Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Requirements / Responsibilities

  • responsible for development and testing of high-energy, high power (kW-MW) pulsed flash lamp driver systems
  • involved in the entire product cycle from prototype design, fabrication, and testing to product launch and production
  • design of analog power systems including switching power supplies and solid-state pulse forming networks
  • digital and analog control system design
  • bread-board prototyping, solo and with support of EE techs
  • must be experienced and comfortable working with high voltage/high energy electrical systems

Pluses:

  • Experience with LabView
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability beyond electrical design and layout
  • Experience with commercial product design, build, test, and support
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related
  • Project management skills
This is not a research role. This is a design, build, and test role.

The applicant must be able to take minimal instruction and proceed with initiative and independence, while still working with the other engineering functions.

The applicant must be able to quickly integrate new concepts and design rules as learned from the current engineering team.
