Photonic Curing™ System for Printed Electronics
Photonic Curing™ is a patented curing technology developed by NovaCentrix, Corp. for developing and manufacturing flexible printed electronics like RFID, smart cards/labels, displays, photovoltaic devices, and advanced packaging.
Photonic Curing™ works by using brief, extremely high-powered pulses of light (up to 16 megawatts per flash) from special custom lamps to sinter inorganic inks and films, including metals, at room temperature. Conductivity goes up, and most substrates remain unaffected because of the very short pulse duration.
BenefitsPhotonic Curing™ technology is designed specifically for use with low-temperature substrates including PET, paper, and even polyethylene film.
PerformancePhotonic Curing can turn printed patterns with little or no measurable conductivity into high-performance circuits. A typical range for improvement with patterns which are already conductive is 20%-300%. Sheet resistances as low as 20 milliohms per square and resistivities as low as 4X bulk have been attained with silver ink. Sheet resistances below 100 milliohms per square and resistivities as low as 6X bulk have been attained with copper ink.
